Hawaiian Islands

The Hawaiian Islands are located in the Pacific Ocean about 4,000 km (2.400 miles) southwest of California. You can only get there by plane or boat. Between them, there are six major islands: Oahu, Maui, The Big Island of Hawaii, Kauai, Molokai and Lanai. Each island is unique and can be found several active volcanoes, lava streams, tropical forests, beautiful beaches, sugar cane fields, pineapple plantations and historic sites. These tropical paradises each year attracts about 7 million tourists, although most of them only visit one or two islands.

Description Of the islands

1- KAUAI

Kauai is the haven of peace to all the tourist attractions of the other islands. It has breathtaking scenery and some beautiful beaches. If you prefer a quiet holiday away from the tourist crowds, go to Kauai. The most extraordinary scenarios can be found on Kauai. This island is more than 20 Km. From the sea and is the oldest of the archipelago. Erosion has taken millions of years to sculpt the fantastic shapes.
 2- OAHU
Central
Island of Hawaii, including Kauai and Molokai islands; Oahu is about 64 km long and 42 km wide, with an area of 1,555 km2.
The island of Oahu is not only the island of tourists, is also the island where volcanoes rumble and growing day by day due to the continuous eruptions. It is built over streams of lava and sand beaches can be white, amber, gray or black; Diversity is what best describes it. Here is where King Kamehameha, who united all the islands under one kingdom, ruled and died; this is where the missionaries arrived and the first Christian church in Hawaii was built, and where he died explorer James Cook.

 3- MOLOKAI
Central Island of Hawaii, between Oahu and Maui island island, also known as Friendly Island. On the southern coast of Molokai, is the harbor of Kaunakakai. The island has an area of 673 km2 and rises to 1,512 m to the east, with the peak Kamakou. Pineapple, coffee is grown and raised cattle.
This small island is the least visited Hawaii. It has no land or residential infrastructure. However, Molokai is the most accurate picture of what Hawaii was 50 years ago. The landscapes of the Kalaupapa Peninsula and the Halawa Valley are intact, and the giant Papahoku Beach is almost always deserted.

 4- MAUI
It is the second largest island of the archipelago. It is known as "The Valley Island" because it is located between two long extinct volcanoes Haleakala and Puu Kukui and as a mecca for windsurfers. Maui is probably the best prepared of all the islands for tourism activities: whale watching, windsurfing, diving, sailing, snorkeling (snorkeling) and cycling.
 5- LANAI
In the Lanai is Hulopoe, a lone pineapple plantation which is often visited by hikers and independent travelers who venture to discover the natural beauties. Today, in the vicinity of Lanai have built a wealth of resorts due to its proximity to the neighboring island of Maui.
 6- HAWAII'S BIG ISLAND
As his nickname suggests Hawaii is the state's largest island. It is called the "Big Island" with intent to distinguish the state as such; however, efforts have been in vain. Of all the islands of the archipelago, Hawaii is the most geographically diverse offering. It can be found from deserts, breathtaking rainforests, volcanoes and even mountains with snow peaks.
